I was very close to Ian at York University but sadly lost touch. We spent a couple of weeks with another friend Les, traveling through Europe by train. What a hoot! Ian was such a happy, handsome and intelligent chap. I can just picture him with his distinctive mutton chop beard. I didn't realise how much I loved him until hearing about his death.
