Our thoughts are with Ian’s family and friends, as we remember what a joy it has been knowing Ian for the past eight years. Ian was a volunteer with the Blind Society through which he became a close friend to my father, Stanley Rouse (who is blind). Every Friday for the past eight years, without missing a day, Ian visited Stan in friendship and support. Dad will miss him very much. Dad’s whole family came to know Ian and we always looked forward to seeing him when we visited from Canada. Ian’s selflessness, kindness and positive outlook on life was a comfort and an example to us all. His was a life to celebrate.
